Monstrous Mothers and the Women Who Write Them

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Often, in horror films and literature, mothers are either given little to no character development, or are painted as villainesses. This panel will seek to explore why motherhood in horror is such a scapegoat for villainy, and the panelists, some of whom are mothers themselves, will discuss the tensions that can arise within the dynamic of motherhood, and the complex emotions that it can invoke, which is where some of our most truly interesting tales of horror stem from.
