Clare Castleberry grew up in the swamps of Louisiana and lived behind her family's neighborhood bar, which fueled her imagination for southern gothic stories, often with erotic, horrific, or crime-laden themes. She has worked as a librarian, model, phone sex operator, ghostwriter, and beekeeper. Forbidden Gardens, the follow-up novel to Azalea House, will be released soon from Winding Road Stories. She has been published in various houses such as The Big Book of Bizarro, Year’s Best Hardcore Horror, and with Zombiegasm Publications. Several of her horror and science fiction stories have been made into film shorts, which have appeared on Santa Cruz’s public access television show Wicked Whirlpool.
